What is Socrative and why would I want to use it in my classroom?

• Socrative is a virtual student response system that works across multiple devices (laptops, tablets, smart phones, desktops).
• Have students login to the Socrative room and select "A,B,C,D or E" to respond to a posted question in the classroom (for example a question set in smart notebook). See real time results (much like a poll) and use that feedback as a check for understanding.
• Create an exit ticket to have students reflect on their learning. Their name is tied to the exit ticket and they type in their answer. When the class is done, you can e-mail or download the results.
• Have students take a pre-made online quiz and then download the results (or view live results). Students enter their names and complete a quiz where the questions are built in to the response system (instead of having them just choose a letter to respond to where the question is posted in the classroom).
• Use data to inform instruction.
